Spring finally makes its highly anticipated arrival this Friday. With it come blooming flowers, baby animals and temperate weather. Well, not quite. This is Ohio, after all. The best we can hope for in early spring is a thaw. But don’t despair: there is still my 30th Wedding Anniversary party to prepare for. That should warm the cockles of your heart and get you through that last leg of cold weather before spring really kicks in.
Notice, how smoothly, I dropped that hint? Like a ton of bricks. LOL I don’t want this one to pass me by, too quickly. I want to give it all of the attention it deserves. Where have the years gone? 30 years, Wow! Anthony wanted to take me to Tennessee for our 30th but after experiencing that trip on 25th; I dare not repeat it. Plus we will be taking our Bi-annual trip to TN at the end of April anyway so that would take some of the thrill out of it.
When we went to Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg for our 25th, we ate from the start of the trip, to the very end. We were making jokes on the way home, after we left Red Lobster about stopping at the next gas station we passed for fudge. So not cool. But it was nice to get away. Now if I could only get Anthony to turn his cell phone off; that would be a true vacation.
On our 15th anniversary, I put a huge sign over our garage that said: The World’s Sexiest Man Lives Here. No, I wasn’t embarrassed but he sure was. The kids (okay, mostly Mandy) helped me make and hang the sign. I thought about renting a yellow sign from Ted’s Hardware in Middletown this year and do something equally as much fun. I love to do little things to remind him, I still love him as much today and more than the day I married him. I’m thinking it should be something like; Yes, the sexiest man in the world, does live here! Or maybe, Honk… He’s a Honey… Happy 30th! I’m still working on it. But, sh… it’s a secret.
On April 6th we’ll be having a nice celebration at home with just the family, kids and grandkids. I wouldn’t want it any other way, and yes Craig, the cake will be white. You’ll have to bring your own chocolate. Maybe my kids would give me a Huge Gift: Weeding, chipping, spraying and mulching. That would be the best 30th anniversary gift, I could ever ask for. LOL
Weather permitting, of course.
