I’m trying to keep it very simple this week. As most of you know, I’ve taken a new job. Well jobs really, I’m going to get to cook on Wednesday’s – Yeah and I’m the co-Activities director for an Assisted Living Facility. I really enjoy it, so I think I’ll stay for awhile. Its not too far from home, and I’ll have my evenings free. That just leaves poor Suki, she’ll have to stay at home with Steven everyday. That wouldn’t be a problem if he weren’t allergic to her. Got to love those allergies. He still really likes her and spends some quality time with her. I’m sure he’ll eventually be over it and she’ll end up in dogie daycare.

I also wanted to let you know that I’ve just back-posted a few Adkins marriage licenses from pre-1800 Virginia. I used the “Adkins” surname on all because they did come down that line. You’ll see the alternate Surname change they’ve used on their licenses and you’ll see that many descendants returned to Adkins or went went further with the changes. I’m sure I’ll get lots of emails on the corrections.

I don’t have spent a lot of spare time but I’ve spent a lot of it trying to trace down some odds and ends, here and there. I was trying to decide how many generations are to many to track. Mom’s cousin Frank had added the descendants of twelve generations, but how far down the rabbit hole should I go, when is it far enough? I tracked some of Jim Adams & Ella Jane Reed’s great-great grandchildren and then I thought to myself, this is just too many.

Not much more progress on the Reed’s. I’ve all but given up hope of ever tying John Franklin Reed to any tree. I’m half convinced that after his unfortunate brush with destiny – that they must have changed their names.  I can’t find any “Reed” family living anywhere with similar sibling names under any spelling of “Reed”. So unless, some documents or family members come out of La Follette, Tennessee… I’m throwing in the towel.

I want to wish my sister Linda Ann Ball a very happy birthday tomorrow. I won’t get any of her cake, nor I didn’t mail her card to Belgium, sorry Linda, but I did post her one on Facebook. That’s like the second best way of being there. But I do love cake. LOL

Valley View Schools, due to government mandates, will now have to go to all day – everyday Kindergarten and they’ll need to hire some new teachers and add some classrooms.  Rumor has it that the superintendent won’t hire from within the district, so who knows where they will find the teachers or the funds to pay for them?

I don’t really like the idea of strangers to the community, working with our children, maybe its just me, but I like to know the background of the persons that I’m trusting my children with. You know, I thought when my kids were out of the system, my worries would be over. I’m only learning now, that it never really ends. I’m so glad that my children moved out of Germantown. I never thought I would ever say that, but our school taxes are just too high.

I wonder what ever happened to the sales tax fund that was created to fund the schools. Who stole those funds?

That’s about it for now.  Not too much more to report.

Have a great week everybody!
