3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper (about 1 small)
1/4 cup chopped onion (about 1 small)
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons fresh oregano
OR
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Heat oven to 375º. Spray pie plate, 10 × 1 1/2 inches, with nonstick cooking spray. Mix flour, 1/2 cup of the cheese, the baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Stir in milk and egg until blended. Spread over bottom and up sides of pie plate.

Mix remaining ingredients except 1/2 cup cheese. Spoon into pie plate; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered about 25 minutes or until edge is puffy and light brown. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

I’ve always thought with relationships, that it’s more about what you bring to the table than what you’re going to get from it. It’s very nice if you sit down and the cake appears. But if you go to the table expecting cake, then it’s not so good. ~ Anjelica Huston
