thanks for the well wishes, calls, comments, cards and gifts. They made my birthday extra special…

We went to LongHorn Steakhouse on Tylersville Rd in West Chester, so that it would be easier to pick up and drop off our youngest son at college. I really wanted my family there. I hate that Brandy lives so far away and cannot make these kinds of events. But I’ll have other birthdays and I’m sure she’ll make a few of them. But it was a fun evening all the same.

Mandy and Alan made it with their brood. Craig and April came along with their kids and Brandon. And, Steven… poor kid, he always seems to be the odd man out. Not even sure why. But he had a good time and I was glad he was there.

The restaurant staff had to sing and clap some type of Happy Birthday song, not the traditional song, but something they sing to everyone, to 6 tables before mine. I felt bad for them. I guess, this just shows the results of the kiss at Midnight on New Years Eve… Ew… I know some would be grossed out by the fact they know they day/night in which they were conceived, but to be born on Oct 5th that is the reality. 40 weeks, conceived on New Years… Ew… too much information and/or ignorance is bliss.

Anyway, we had a great time, I did get upstaged at my own party last night! Craigie (my 9 year old grandson) almost jumped over the table when Rich Franklin and his party walked through the door. Craig (my oldest son) wouldn’t let him get an autograph, so he just sat and stared at him all night. LOL I had to laugh. How many 9 year old’s in this world, would or even should be able to recognize a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion when they see one? He went nuts, and was so excited. WHY?

Oh well, it can’t always be about the Grandma. I wanted to personally thank the party at another table for ordering too many desserts and sharing their extra Caramel Apple Goldrush dessert (untouched) with our table. Jessica (sitting at the end of the table) and her boyfriend were very appreciative. We had ordered the Chocolate Stampede to share with the kids and for my birthday, they give you a free chocolate sundae.

Anthony and I shared a dinner, so that I could eat dessert. We had a very nice waiter and I know he worked hard serving our entire section. That could not be easy. So thank you all for making my birthday a memorable one.

Love to you all,
Sheila Jean Adkins Metcalf
