I have found a way to make Twitter work for me. I have not climbed on board the whole Twitter craze, but I have added the Twitter widget to my blog, (see upper middle right column)> and use it to add updates and statistics. It is short and sweet and always something fresh for people to check out on my site, and it pulls my site into the Web 2.0 dimension. LOL I love the old style look I chose for the blog; it’s very much me… but everyone knows how I love all the new techno - gadgets, etc.!!!
Also, if you own your website and haven’t checked out hotfrog.com please do it now, you should add yourself to their directory. I just added my profile today, we were already there, someone had already added our company, but the information was 13 years old. I added lots of keywords and was amazed at the simplicity – you know I love simplicity. And the best part is that it’s free. Who doesn’t love free?
I love Lindedin, Plaxo is okay, Facebook… the jury is still out, but I draw the line at Plurk. Too many irons in the fire is not a good thing.
I love all the great tips I have learned so just thought I would share a couple that I hope are working for me.

Make the most of the best and the least of the worst.
Every life has its dark and cheerful hours. Happiness comes from choosing which to remember.
This post will be short and sweet. At least once a week I get a question about Jacob Harley, to be honest I’ve not done much research on him. I can give you what I have and you can build from there.
Jacob Harley, born the Earl of Oxford abt 1730 England. Son of an the third English/Brit Earl of Oxford came to America as a Tax Collector and met Mary Adkins, and by common law marriage (significant other), lived with her and was the parent of several children Mary Adkins d/o William V and Elizabeth Parker Adkins SR. in Virginia. Mary was born 12 OCT 1735 – Richland, Goochland, Virginia died: 1820 Cabell, Virginia – Beech Hill, Mason, West Virginia and buried in an unmarked grave on Beech Fork – Mouth of Bowen’s Creek.
When trouble between the Colonies and England began, Jacob returned to England without his family. At his death he left a large sum of money to his son Jacob, but he refused to go to England to claim his fortune. Instead, in 1779, he, along with his mother, brothers and sisters crossed the Allegheny Mountains and later, settled in the Beech Fork section of what is now Wayne County, West Virginia.

B2 or Not B2? What a Question!
Have you had those weeks that seem like much ado about nothing? Constantly being upstaged by other players’ demands, your performance weakens and you lose focus. It’s a tragedy in the making. Time to act! Adding value and order to your daily tasks will give you direction. Here are a few pointers:
- Enter value. Decide how important each task is. It’s as easy as A-B-C. “A” tasks are vital. Not accomplishing them today will significantly reduce their value. “B” tasks are important. They can wait a day without losing a lot of value. “C” tasks are optional. If you don’t get them done today, tomorrow, or even next week, don’t sweat it.
- Cross to order. It’s important to decide when you will get things done. In your planning system, assign a number to each task in your different value groups. Example: A1, A2; B1, B2, B3; C1.
- Exit stress. Cue off of these ideas for greater personal effectiveness. You’ll bring down the house!
- Remember, a daily schedule is a mere “road map” for how you would like your day to go. Be flexible and realistic. There’s always tomorrow!
- Regularly scheduling time for personal and professional reflection is a great way to stay focused on whether you are living by your values. Take time to think about the following questions: “Where am I going?” “How do I get there?” “What must I do?” “Why am I doing it?” “When should I do it?”
- “I’ve learned that the great challenge of life is to decide what’s important and to disregard everything else.”
