Welcome family & friends to the Adkins – Metcalf Family Mews. I’m glad you found us.

 

I’ve been asked so many times, “What does MEWS mean”? I joke a lot about Mews vs Muse; the word Mews, means a tiny place or alley to put your things and Muse, simply means to think or meditate in silence, as on some subject or subjects.

 

Now we all know there is no way I can be silent about anything; if it’s on my brain it comes out my mouth. I needed a tiny place (the world wide web) to put my schedule, thoughts, ideas and research… and then share them with others.

 

In a nutshell it’s the Metcalf Early Warning System aka MEWS. A series of steps established to spot potential problems. We all know there are problems in the best of families; time management, life skills, skeletons and lot’s of lose ends that need sown up. I try to ward off impending problems and solve most of them with the help of my family and friends.

 

This is the primary use of the blog. I try to address all the things in my life that makes me who and what I am; wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, neighbor, gardener, genealogist, chef, home and office administrator, care-giver, home and pet owner among other things.

 

My aunt Mary Sue once called me; a jack of all trades and master of none. I hope for my sake this isn’t true but that’s family for ya… they just calls em like they sees em.  Maybe she sees that I’m always seeking out more information on; new ways to do things, persons, places, dates, facts, flowers to plant, meals to plan and lots of family needs to attend to.

 

I do hope you enjoy the ride as we contribute to the family dowry of heritage and servitude. Importantly to the growth and survival of the family and to keep our generations knowing and growing through the experiences we share here with one another.
